Dave Rasmussen

Dave is a partner and regional accounting and assurance practice leader with BDO Canada LLP. He has over 20 years of experience in audit and accounting practice, with exposure to many types and sizes of organizations and a variety of industries, including private and public companies and organizations in the not-for-profit sector. Dave has significant expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises and not-for-profit organizations as well as Canadian and international auditing/assurance standards. He provides consultation in complex accounting, auditing and financial reporting matters as well as ensuring that quality standards and regulations are adopted and applied. Dave also actively engages in the development and delivery of accounting and assurance professional development courses and thought leadership publications.

In addition to being a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB), Dave also currently serves on the Task Force on Audit Reporting Implications of New Canadian Auditing Standards and previously served on the AASB’s Task Force on Auditor Reporting. He is also active in his community, helping to lead and teach a community-based English as a second language program.

Dave currently lives in Toronto.
