D’Arcy Schieman

D’Arcy is a partner in Osler’s Toronto office. His practice is focused on litigation and planning matters for commodity taxes and, in particular, GST/HST. He has appeared in tax matters before the Tax Court of Canada and Federal Court of Appeal, although his preference is to resolve disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial tax authorities long before they go to trial. D’Arcy was appointed to the Ontario Government’s HST Implementation Panel and is currently a member of the Tax Court of Canada Bench and Bar Committee. He has been an instructor at the CPA Canada In-Depth HST Course for the past several years and has been repeatedly recognized by International Tax Review as a Leading Indirect Tax Advisor in Canada.
