D’Arcy Schieman

D’Arcy is a partner with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, working out of the firm’s Toronto office, and he advises on both litigation and planning matters. His practice is focused on Canadian commodity taxes and customs duties, including GST, HST and PST, and he has frequently written and presented in this area.

D’Arcy has appeared before both the Federal Court of Appeal and the Tax Court of Canada in a number of recent significant GST/HST litigation matters, acting on behalf of the Canadian Medical Protective Association, General Motors of Canada Limited, President’s Choice Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology, Toronto Dominion Bank and Canada Trustco. He was appointed to the Ontario government’s HST Implementation Panel and has served as an instructor at the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada)'s In-Depth HST/GST Course since 2013.
