Brian Mustard

Brian is the senior vice-president of Taxation at SNC Lavalin in charge of all tax functions globally and a team of over 20 tax professionals. He joined SNC Lavalin in November of 2014 after 21 years at KPMG where he was an international corporate tax partner.

During Brian’s career at KPMG he focused on structured financing, acquisitions and divestitures, reorganizations and transfer pricing. He was seconded twice to the Tax Policy Branch of the Department of Finance under the executive interchange program. From 2001 to 2003, he worked with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) with respect to their work on harmful tax competition, Canadian foreign affiliate matters and certain issues related to interest deductibility. He returned on interchange during 2008 to act as the executive director of the Secretariat to the Advisory Panel on Canada’s System of International Taxation.

Brian is also a vice-president of the Canadian branch of the International Fiscal Association and a former governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation.

He is a frequent speaker and author on international taxation matters.
