Baïa is currently Accounting Standards and Climate Change Advisor in the Accounting and Financial Information branch of the City of Montreal’s finance department. She handles everything related to the evolution of accounting standards related to climate change in the City. In addition, she was actively involved in the first Annual Financial Report to include a section on Unaudited Financial Information on Climate Change. She also conducts various economic and financial analyses of the City's infrastructure projects, several of which relate to obtaining federal funding for the City of Montreal's climate change adaptation initiatives. Examples of such projects include building an urban park in Montreal's West Island to create the biggest urban park in Canada, constructing water retention ponds and pumping stations and installation of valves.
