Arun Thangaraj, CPA, CMA

Arun’s more than 20 years of federal government experience helped win him the job of deputy chief financial officer and director general, financial resource management and planning, at Global Affairs Canada (formerly the Canadian International Development Agency) in 2011. In July 2015, Arun was appointed assistant deputy minister and chief financial officer of Global Affairs Canada. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of corporate planning, IM/IT and financial planning for the department.

Arun is also a sessional lecturer in the school of public administration at Carleton University, where he has taught management stream courses for the past 12 years.

He is bilingual and holds an Honours BA in political science, an MBA, a Master of Public Administration and a CPA, CMA designation.
