Armand is BDO Canada’s national accounting standards partner. Prior to joining BDO’s national standards group, he was a senior manager in BDO’s Sault Ste. Marie office. In his current role, he provides leadership to the firm on all matters related to accounting standards; develops and disseminates internal and external technical releases, client publications and seminar support in the areas of accounting and financial reporting; provides advice and opinions on accounting and financial reporting technical matters when consulted by practice offices; maintains the firm's manuals and related forms, templates and software related to accounting and financial reporting; determines accounting and financial reporting training needs and delivers accounting and financial reporting training programs; and directs the firm's responses to accounting exposure drafts and other Institute and government pronouncements. He’s a member of BDO International’s IFRS Working Party and IFRS leader for BDO International’s Americas Region. Armand is a former member of the AcSB’s IFRS Discussion Group, AcSB’s IFRS Advisory Committee, PSAB’s Public Sector Accounting Discussion Group, the Financial Reporting & Governance Continuing Education Working Group and AASB Internal Control over Financial Reporting Task Force. He’s a fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, a member of the Canadian Accounting Standards Board (AcSB), and chair of the AcSB’s Private Enterprise Advisory Committee. A past lecturer of auditing at Lake Superior State University, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Armand was awarded a 2011 Award of Distinction. He’s also a former member of the Board of Directors of the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation and former member of the Finance Committee of the Sault Ste. Marie Chapter of the United Way.
