Angelo is a partner of Couzin Taylor LLP, and a limited partner of Ernst & Young L.P., which provides services to Ernst & Young LLP.

Angelo’s practice over the last two decades has focused primarily on advising clients concerned with domestic and international corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), reorganizations, divestitures, inbound and outbound multinational direct investment and structured financing.

Angelo has spoken and written on numerous occasions on various topics of corporate and international tax law. Speaking engagements include at conferences or courses organized by the Canadian Tax Foundation, the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, Federated Press, the Canadian Institute, Strategy Institute and Infonex. His writing has appeared in the following journals: Tax Planning International Review, International Tax Review, Corporate Finance, Corporate Groups and Structures and the Journal of International Trust and Corporate Planning. Angelo is the author of Taxation of Foreign Affiliates, an extensive review of the federal income tax rules applicable to outbound direct investment by Canadian multinationals, published by Carswell. He has served as a sessional lecturer at the Faculty of Law, McGill University, on Taxation, Tax Policy and on International Taxation.

Angelo is an active member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the International Bar Association and the International Fiscal Association, and has served on the Joint Committee on Taxation of the Canadian Bar Association and Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), where he was the coordinator of the Foreign Affiliates Subcommittee.

Angelo has been recognized by the Canadian Legal LEXPERT Directory as a repeatedly recommended lawyer in the area of corporate tax, and was recognized in LEXPERT’s 2002 and 2004 “Top 40 Under 40” surveys of leading Canadian young lawyers. Angelo has also been recognized in the Chambers & Partners Global Directory of the World's Leading Lawyers, and in International Tax Review’s World Tax guides to leading tax firms and advisors, as a leading individual in the areas of M&A and cross-border structuring, among other listings.

Angelo received his BA in 1989, and his LLB and BCL in 1993, from McGill University, and is qualified to practice in Quebec, Ontario and New York State.
