Canadian business law course for internationally-trained accountants and students

This course provides an overview of the Canadian legal system for internationally-trained CPA students seeking to meet the Canadian business law prerequisite requirement for entry to the CPA PEP.

This course was developed for Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) students who already have an eligible undergraduate business law course from outside Canada, but require more exposure to Canadian business law in order to meet the Canadian business law prerequisite requirement for entry to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).

Topics include:

  • civil code and common law
  • Canadian Constitution and Charter of Rights
  • role of the Courts
  • process for suing in Canada

There are five modules in this course. To help ensure you fully understand the concepts covered, a brief quiz will follow each module.

Who should attend?

Enrol in this course only if your provincial or regional CPA body has recognized the eligibility of your undergraduate credit.
