Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) recently commissioned Nielsen to conduct a study on information security for small and medium enterprises. The study found that small accounting firms, in particular, showed a surprising lack of adoption of some basic IT security practices, and had limited knowledge of proper protection.
It’s said that a crisis brings out the best in people and, in most cases, that’s true. But there is a dark side to tough times, as fraudsters prey on people who are uncertain and looking for easy answers.
