The OSC launched a consultation seeking suggestions on ways to further reduce unnecessary regulatory burden. Areas of focus include:
While we support efforts to improve administrative practices and address concerns of reporting issuers and registrants, we question undertaking a new and broad initiative such as this at this time. We refer to the OSC to our comment letter to the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) regarding CSA Consultation 51-404 Considerations for Reducing Regulatory Burden for Non-Investment Fund Reporting Issuers.
