Raelene Kennedy

Raelene started her career in Toronto focusing on excise tax with Thorne Ernst and Whinney. Since then, she has worked in a number of organizations, both for-profit and not-for-profit. Raelene majored in marketing and management for her B Comm at Dalhousie University, but went back to school part- time and earned her CMA designation in 2003. She worked for a not-for-profit for a number of years, moved to a radio station, then worked for three different manufacturing companies, which allowed her to discover her true passion.

Raelene likes manufacturing companies because they offer her a variety of interesting opportunities, such as dealing with foreign currency, costing and gross margin analysis. They also allow for interaction with professionals in other fields, including marketing, production, logistics and, in some cases, research and development.

Raelene sat on the audit committee at one of her local universities for eight years and was on the board of a local community centre for a few years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at a local soup kitchen, hiking and travelling.
